LAB SERVICES

Asphalt paving projects require extensive planning, design and clear-cut execution. Rigid specifications, demanding schedules and exacting budgets must be met. As with any business, accurate testing and proper quality control are an absolute must. This highly technical environment was the catalyst for the initiation of Stark Asphalt – Lab Services Division in 1993.

Stark Asphalt proudly employs a full-time technical staff certified both in aggregate and asphalt by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Our technicians are well versed to handle a wide variety of testing, from subgrades to asphalt pavements and material properties. As a hot mix asphalt producer, our technicians are constantly involved in updating our mix designs and monitoring the hot mix at our production facilities on a daily basis. In doing so, they guarantee you the best possible product and service available in the marketplace today.

Our lab division provides plant and on-site testing to assess the quality of hot mix asphalt and aggregates. These tests include:

Asphalt: Mix designs (conventional and Superpave mixes), Sieve Analysis, In-place nuclear density.

Aggregate: Proctor, In-place nuclear density, Gradation, Fracture Counts.

Our lab is also fully accredited and certified by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
